Who is Yang

I'm Yang Chen — a strategist and guide who has spent a career refusing to choose. Born in China. Educated in the US. Based in Europe. Three continents, three degrees, two practices — one throughline: the space between things is where the real work happens.

I've built brands from scratch and sat with people in their darkest seasons. I've studied media systems and read birth charts. I've written go-to-market strategies and journal entries about grief. None of it is a contradiction. All of it is the bridge.

YC Insight exists because I believe the most powerful people are those who can hold both sides — ambitious and soulful, structured and sensitive, Eastern and Western, academic and operational. You don't have to choose which half of yourself to bring to the table.

Both paths are real. Both lead somewhere. I'm here to walk them with you.

The Architecture of YC Insight

Every part of this work exists in the space between two things. Not choosing sides — connecting them.

Ambition
Intuition

The drive to build and the wisdom to feel. Neither alone is enough. Together, they make decisions that last.

Marketing
Spirituality

Strategy without soul is just noise. Soul without strategy stays invisible. The bridge is where both become real.

Academia
Industry

Three degrees. Decades of execution. The gap between what is taught and what is done — I've lived on both sides of it.

东
西

East ↔ West

Born in China. Shaped by the US. Rooted in Europe. Two systems of thought, two ways of knowing — one mind that holds them both.

Structure
Soul

Frameworks give clarity. Feeling gives direction. The best work I've ever done — and helped others do — lives exactly at this crossing.

Head
Heart

Logic maps the terrain. Emotion knows the destination. I stopped choosing between them the day I realised the best decisions need both.

Human Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence

The edge that can't be automated

AI processes at scale. Humans feel what matters. The leaders who thrive aren't the ones who resist the machine — they're the ones who know what only they can bring to it.

What you'll find here

Two paths. One destination.

The Strategy Path

Strategic Thinking

How I think about positioning, messaging, and market entry — shaped by years of doing it across cultures and industries.

Frameworks & Thinking

Mental models and operating systems I've built through real projects — written down so they don't stay locked in my head.

My Work

Projects from the field — anonymised, documented, and shared as honest accounts of what happened and what I learned.

The Healing Path

Astrology

Natal charts, transits, and the language of the sky — not as prediction, but as a map of what's already moving inside you.

Healing Reflections

Personal writing from the harder seasons — what I found when I stopped performing and started paying attention.

Inner Clarity

Reflections on sitting with confusion, grief, and the in-between — not rushing toward resolution, but learning to stay.
